Watching Tom Jones (I personally cannot stand him) I got to thinking about where he grew up, and where Broski lives now. btw, sorry Broski for invading your blog without telling you.... I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with the tragedy of Aberfan. This small village in South Wales lost half a generation in this tragic accident...

At 9.15 am on Friday, October 21, 1966, 144 people died in the Aberfan Disaster in South Wales including 116 school children, about half of the little children at Pantglas Junior School, and five of their teachers. A waste tip slid down a mountainside int More..o the mining village of Aberfan, near Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales. It first destroyed a farm cottage in its path, killing all the occupants. At Pantglas Junior School the children had just returned to their classes after singing ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ at their assembly when the rushing landslide of mud and debris flooded into their classrooms. Most of the children were between the ages of 7 and 10. Had they left for their classrooms a few minutes later, the loss of life would have been significantly reduced, as the classrooms were on the side of the building nearest the landslide.
